During this year’s Economic Forum in Karpacz, representatives of the Candela Foundation actively participated in a discussion on breakthrough photonic technologies. The panel ‘Light for special tasks: a breakthrough in biomedical, chemical and industrial measurements’, moderated by Justyna Kościelna from the Wrocław University of Technology, featured Piotr Węgrzyn, President of the Candela Foundation, Grzegorz Soboń, member of the Foundation Council and scientist at the Wrocław University of Technology, and Maciej Jaworski, specialist in sales and spectroscopic applications at Gekko Photonics.

The discussion focused on the use of light in modern technologies, including early cancer detection, non-contact chemical analysis, quality control and real-time process decision-making, as well as molecular bioimaging and nanophotonics. The potential for integrating photonic sensors with artificial intelligence in industrial applications was also discussed.

The Candela Foundation not only participates in the dialogue on innovation, but also collects and organises knowledge about the photonic environment, its needs and directions of development. An important element of its activity is sharing this knowledge with scientists, entrepreneurs and institutions, as well as supporting education and training of future generations of specialists in this field.

The participation of Candela Foundation experts in such an influential event as the Economic Forum confirms the growing importance of photonics in the development of modern biomedical, chemical and industrial technologies.
