Kacper Cybiński
Kacper Cybiński is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences, University of Warsaw. He also works as a researcher at IDEAS Research Institute, where as a member of the AI for Science team he focuses on machine learning methods for quantum condensed matter physics and material science. Alongside his research, he is actively involved in organizing leading scientific conferences in the fields of physics, optics and photonics in Poland.
He completed his MSc cum laude in Quantum Physics and Chemistry – Individual Research Studies at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, with a thesis on the quantum dynamics of ultracold molecular systems. He holds a BSc in physics from the MISMaP interdisciplinary programme at the University of Warsaw.
During his academic journey, he gained research experience through stays at the Institut de Ciències Fotòniques (ICFO, Spain), The Flatiron Institute (New York, USA), and Leiden University (the Netherlands), developing his work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and quantum physics.
He actively participates in international conferences, presenting his research through talks and poster presentations. For his scientific achievements, he was awarded the scholarship of the Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education in both 2024 and 2025.
Kacper is an active member of the academic community, involved in the Interdisciplinary Scientific Tournament Student Club of the University of Warsaw — with whom he won silver and bronze medals in the University Physics Competition in 2022 and 2023 — as well as the Student Club of Quantum Sciences (SKuNKs) at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw. He previously served on the Faculty Council and the Didactic Council at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, as well as on the Advisory Council for the Student Scientific Movement at the University of Warsaw.
Since man does not live by science alone, he has always liked to use his excess energy for creative issues. In his youth, he was involved in dubbing, which later turned into photography, and then sound and video production, all of which he pursues in his spare time.
In his free time, he also likes sailing, hiking, climbing, and traveling in search of splendid food. He is not bothered by the conflict between the funders because he loves all three debated cakes.
